This past summer I decided that I want to learn how to ride horses. I’ve wanted to for a really long time, but my family frowns on “pony girls” and so it never happened. I looked into it, and I had pretty much resolved to sign up for lessons this fall, but I don’t know if that’s going to work out now.  I’m not giving up on it, as much as I’m putting it back on the back burner for the time being (my gym membership kind of wiped me out, and I need a gym this winter more than I need riding lessons). Besides, I don’t need a physical outlet, I need a creative one. Seeing Carbon Leaf the other night made me think I might like to learn to play the pennywhistle- it sounds great, and is part of a lot of music I love, plus, how hard could it be?So I toyed with that idea all day. I tried taking guitar lessons when I was in high school, but I was too self-conscious to ever play in front of my instructor, and so that was a big fail. I’m way way way more comfortable with myself now though, and I think it might be time to give music another shot. I’m actually thinking a little bit bigger than a pennywhistle now though…
